Evolution of my painting in 5 autoportraits

It'the end of my apprentceship. The subject is only a picture of reality.

1971

Getting rid of the formal description.I purify the lines. I try to go to the essential.I nearly work in cameo. The touch is impressionist. I want to paint clear.

1977

At first sight, the subject disappears under the colour. The forms are split. Since 1980, I re been working the background with acrylic which allows me to be spontereaus.

1983

The composition of the painting is organised from oblique structures. The violence of the colour and the assembly of complementary colours translate my state of mind of the moment.

1991

Since a few years, I're been integrating in my painting different components : textiles, sand, saw. These components allow some effects of "substance". The painting is only rythm of colours. The subject is subordinate.

1996
